Ashwani Kumar and Rickelton shine in MI’s first victory
Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their first home ground match at Wankhede Mumbai with a clinical performance today. First, MI all-out KKR for just 116 runs in the 17th over. MI 121-2 in 12.5 overs, cleared the par score in just the 13th over and won by 8 wickets. The debutant left-arm pacer Ashwani Kumar from Punjab took 4-24 runs in his 4 overs.
MI chased down in 12.5 overs with a half-century of Ryan Rickelton 62*(41) back into the form and Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav made 27*(9) with 2 sixes and 3 fours to finish this game fast for MI. Also, MI conceded their first win in the tournament and got out early.
Fall of wickets in KKR’s inning
A collective team failure of KKR was noticed with the bat, and no batter could score 30 runs. Rinku Singh 17(14), Manish Pandey 19(14), Ramandeep Singh 22(12), Angkrish Raghuvanshi 26(16) and captain Ajinkya Rahane 11(7) did not go long to get a good score. Venkatesh Iyer, the big purchase for KKR also failed to score big and got out at just a score of 3 runs in 9 balls.

Ashwini Kumar is the talent hunt of MI and he is the MI scout, who took the four most crucial wickets of Russel, Manish Pandey, Rinku Singh and Ajinkya Rahane. Alongside him, Deepak Chahar (2-19) and every MI bowler took at least one wicket. He also won the Man of the Match award in the MI vs KKR match today.
