WTC final qualification hurdle for India
WTC final qualification is in danger for the team India after the loss by 10 wickets in the second test in BGT 2024-25 at Adelaide, Australia. Now India has to win all 3 remaining test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India cannot afford one more loss in this series, and now it is do or die to qualify for the World Test Championship finals to be played at Lord’s in the summer of 2025.
India scored 180 in the first inning and all-out at a score of 175 in the second inning today. Australia scored 337 and 19 in both innings. Travis Head scored 140 lineup looks The Match and match match-winning knock. Mitchell Starc took 8 wickets. Indian batting collapse continues in pink ball test records, and Australia equal the series.
Indian bowling lineup looks unconvincing and less effective. Also, team India needs to work on their batting performance while the batsman has to take charge in the third test. Except for Bumrah, the Indian bowling stand was ineffective against Australia, and the team missed M Shami.
How can India qualify?
Besides, depending on other teams to win or lose, India needs to win the remaining 3 tests in Australia or win at least 2 tests with one draw test. India’s qualification scenario is either having the BGT series win by 4-1 or 3-1 and it directly through into the WTC finals.
Except for this scenario, India can qualify for the finals in case Pakistan beats South Africa at their home in the upcoming 2 test matches or Australia loses 2 test matches against Sri Lanka in their Sri Lanka tour in February 2025.
India needs to secure a win in the rest of all the 3 matches to qualify in the WTC’s final 2024-25. Spark needs in the team performance in bowling and batting as a team effort to beat Australia in all remaining contests.
